Celebrity and well-known advocate of age management medicine, Suzanne Somers, recently interviewed Dr. Richard Gaines, the creator of GAINSWave®, for her Forever Health video streaming series.
Dr. Gaines has known Somers for many years and in this interview he had the opportunity to discuss his long and personal history with medical age management, particularly his pioneering use of sexual wellness treatments, such as the GAINSWave.
In the very informative Q&A, Dr. Gaines went on to discuss the development of this natural treatment and how it stems from the 50 well know studies about Shockwave therapy, or ESWT, that was developed over 15 years ago in Europe.
Shockwave therapy uses sounds wave technology to stimulate the healing process in the body by triggering a reaction to the mild inflammation caused by the pressure wave.
When used to treat vascular related erectile dysfunction, the mechanism of action for the GAINSWave is induced angiogenesis and neovascularization in the corpora cavernosa, allowing for improved blood flow, which is why GAINSWave is so effective for treating ED. It allows the creation of new blood vessel along with the rejuvenation of existing vessels to increase the patient’s ability to obtain and sustain an erection.
Similar techniques and delivery devices to the GAINSWave have been used to produce successful revascularization in the treatment of chronic cardiac ischemia for more than a decade.
Dr. Gaines also mentioned their current ongoing trial of using GAINSWave® for female clients. Preliminary results are favorable and we expect to launch GAINSWave therapy for women in the upcoming year. Stay tuned.
